Welcome to the United Nations Association - Toronto Branch

A Better World Starts HERE

UNACTO The United Nations Association, Toronto Region Branch (UNACTO), a division of the (UNA-Canada) UNAC, serves Torontonians in many aspects related to the model of the United Nations. UNA- Canada (UNAC) is a national charitable organization which was established in 1946 whose office mandate is to engage the Canadian public in the work of the United Nations and to highlight the critical international issues which affect us all. We accomplish our goals with the help of our dynamic staff at the National Office and a network of volunteer-driven regional branches.

Our Toronto branch strives to raise awareness among Torontonians of issues concerning human rights, refugees, poverty and peace. Furthermore, through seminars, workshops, events, and symposiums we aim at educating the public about current challenges with regard to youth and education, women issues, drug use-abuse, health and mental health, as well as environment and sustainable development, and many others.

UNACTO is proud of being a member of the New Horizons: Healing and Hope Coalition since 2008. The coalition consists of 15 non-profit organizations that serve immigrants and refugees. Our role in the coalition is to facilitate a set of group sessions for kids and youth who have been traumatized by war and/or immigration through a non-therapeutic play named (Playing with Rainbows). We also assist other organizations to implement playing with rainbows sessions by providing them with advices on the process of implementation and supporting them with experienced facilitators.

I would like to invite all Torontonians to join and support UNACTO and actively take part in its events and activities. UNACTO welcomes new members, donors and volunteers to join the branch and to participate to better serve fellow Torontonians and to accomplish the noble mission of UNAC and UNACTO .
